GOLDHANGER, LITTLE TOTHAM and TOLLESHUNT MAJOR W.I.
Our next meeting will be in the Village Hall on August 3rd. It will be a social evening with a FISH SUPPER. There is a chicken option for those who prefer that. Please let Pauline have your payment for the supper which is £4.00 for fish and £5.00 for chicken. Bring along a drink and a glass and nibbles if you wish. There will be a ‘flower of the month’ competition so if you have a single stem flower or blossom to display do, please, bring it along.
The July meeting was well attended considering how many of us were on holiday and our speaker was Ken Harrison telling us about the RNLI. We had the opportunity to buy books and pictures from his table. The refreshments were lovely and we thank the ladies who made the cakes and served us tea and coffee. Sandra came first in the flower competition with Linda a close second.Boards were circulated for our STRAWBERRY TEA and SUMMER PICNIC as well as for volunteers to man the teas and cakes stall for GALA WEEKEND. Please add your name to the list of cake-makers if you have not already done so. The more members there are to help the less onerous the task.
Our STRAWBERRY TEA was on Monday 11th July but, sadly, after setting everything up in the Church garden, the sky blackened and we had to quickly bring it all in again. But nothing stops Goldhanger W.I. from having a good afternoon and after a couple of PIMMS we watched the deluge outside quite happily and enjoyed our scones and strawberries. There was a good raffle, run by Barbara and we truly made the best of it. But we do need good weather in August for our GARDEN PICNIC. The date will be given at the August meeting. No more rain-dancing, Girls!
