GOLDHANGER, LITTLE TOTHAM and TOLLESHUNT MAJOR W.I.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE. HERE WE GO INTO 2017
Our first meeting of the new year will be held on January 11th at the Village Hall at 7.30.p.m. It will be our CHEESE AND WINE evening and there will be entertainment from a group of our talented villagers. Please bring drinks and nibbles to enjoy . If you promised to provide items of party food when you filled in the board, please put them on the table ready for our buffet supper.
The Christmas Dinner was held on December 7th and we all enjoyed a lovely, traditional Christmas meal. Our thanks and congratulations to our caterers who have become our good friends over the years. The business elements of the evening were dealt with quickly and we heard the finance report for the Ladies Club from our treasurer, Pauline. Kerry read out the resolutions for discussion at the National AGM and we voted for those we regarded as worthy of promotion at National Level. We sang JERUSALEM with gusto…………yet another annual event!!
The annual prize-giving for the ‘flower of the month’ competition was organised by Julie who awarded first prize, the rose bowl, to Sandra Smith and the runner-up prize, a pretty vase, to Sheila Holmes. Congratulations to you both and to your well-tended gardens. Nonee Newman was presented with a flower arrangement in recognition of the many years that she has provided pretty birthday posies for our members. Many thanks, Nonee, from all of us. Later in the evening we all took part in the SECRET SANTA draw and delighted in the lovely wrapped gifts we received. Our thanks to Kerry and Claire for organising it all after a hard day at work. And the draw for the gorgeous Christmas table centres, made by Pam, found other appreciative winners. We now look forward to an interesting year of meetings and activities with good friends and lots of laughter.
