GOLDHANGER, LITTLE TOTHAM and TOLLESHUNT MAJOR W.I.
Our next meeting on May 2nd is our ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING and a W.I. advisor will be there to oversee the proceedings. There will be a ‘flower of the month’ competition so do, please, have a look in your garden for a single stem bloom to enter.
Geraldine Bourain was our speaker last month and her talk, with a film to explain all about MARY’S MEALS, was very well received. We were impressed with the dedication of all the volunteers who work for the charity , providing free meals for children at school in many parts of the world, thus ensuring that those children can access an education. The image of smiling, singing mums carrying the food up a mountain to their school was, indeed, memorable.
A group of members will be having an outing to Hyde Hall on May 8th, travelling there by car. If any members missed the last meeting and would like to join them, please let a committee member know at the A.G.M. Our ANNUAL OUTING is to be on June 13th and replaces our monthly meeting. We have booked a larger coach and so there are a few extra places available for any villagers who might like to join us. Please contact Margaret on 788350. We are going to AUDLEY END HOUSE AND GARDENS, stopping off at SAFFRON WALDON enroute for an hour. The total cost is £23.85.
We are supporting the MALDON FOOD PANTRY during this year and will be collecting tinned and dried food items at the church on May 5th between 10.00 a.m. and 12 noon. Tea and biscuits will be available and we invite villagers to join us in donating.
