GOLDHANGER, LITTLE TOTHAM and TOLLESHUNT MAJOR W.I.
Our next meeting will be held in the Village Hall on Wednesday 6th April at 7.30.p.m. and will be a talk about the CHELMSFORD BALLET COMPANY - A PEEP BEHIND THE SCENES by Marion Pettet. There will be a ‘flower of the month’ competition so bring along a pretty single flower to bring a breath of Spring into our meeting.
We were all captivated by Sally Brown’s talk and demonstration of SUGARCRAFT at the March meeting. The hall was silent, which might be a first. Sally’s natural sense of humour shone throughout her talk and she obviously felt very much at home with us. The sugar roses which she made were beautiful and she made it look easy. Any ladies who have since had a go at the craft, please take a photo and send it along to our website.
As always the refreshments were very tempting and efficiently served. Thanks go to the ladies involved. The ‘flower of the month’ was Sheila’s lovely iris and Jayne’s tete a tete came a close second. Congratulations to you both.
Our CABARET LUNCH at The Bull was very well attended and we all enjoyed it. The singer kept us well-entertained throughout with songs from the sixties and many of us were singing along with the hits.
The activity for the month is a Spring Lunch at the Cricketer’s on 28th April. Menus are available to pre-order and are very flexible. We will also be holding our annual PLANT SALE in the Village Hall in May. This is always a very popular village event and helps Goldhanger to have very pretty gardens throughout the
summer months. Teas, coffees and cakes will be available so if members can offer help by making a cake, or on the day itself, please let a committee member know. We also have the Carole King musical BEAUTIFUL in the West End to look forward to and our day out in Cambridge in June.
