Goldhanger, Little Totham and Tolleshunt Major W.I.

Goldhanger Parish Magazine Article - June  2017

There will be no meeting in June as it is our Annual Outing. This year we are paying Burnham on Crouch a visit followed by Wine Tasting at NEW HALL VINEYARD. Please ensure that Pauline has your cheque for £22.50 , payable to Goldhanger W.I. if you have not already done so.

Our Annual General meeting was well attended and we welcomed our W.I. advisor, Sheila Gunson who guided us through the procedures most efficiently. The President and Committee were elected and are happy to carry on in their various roles for another year. The resolution, for discussion at National level, was put to the vote and we considered the alleviation of loneliness to be the most pressing cause in today’s busy, digital world.

We enjoyed pizza slices and chicken goujons in addition to slices of cake and meringues made by members. We discussed the Plant Sale and boards were circulated for our outing and for a theatre trip by coach to the Cliffs Pavillion to see JOSEPH AND HIS AMAZING DREAMCOAT in September. Please see separate notice elsewhere in the magazine for details or click on our website.

Birthday posies were given to our birthday girls . We have a special birthday to celebrate in June. Our lovely Winnie Wright will be 99 years old. Winnie is our oldest member (our youngest is 25) and we wish her a very happy birthday.

Linda’s pretty viburnum stem took first prize in the ‘flower of the month’ competition with Paddi’s wisteria coming second.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in the square at 9.30 A.M. on June 7th for our trip. Lots of sunshine would be good.
