GOLDHANGER, LITTLE TOTHAM and TOLLESHUNT MAJOR W.I.
Our next meeting will be held in Goldhanger Village Hall on November 4th and our speaker will be Pat Kelly. Her subject is THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE. Flowers from your gardens will be most welcome for the monthly competition as we near the end of the Autumn.
Jan Williams told us several stories set in Essex at our last meeting, giving us an insight into local folklore and we all had a pleasant evening with lovely refreshments. Sheila took first place in the ‘flower of the month’ competition with a very pretty rose and Sandra’s begonia was placed second. It was so lovely to see such colourful blooms so late in the season. Boards were circulated for our Annual Dinner at the Chequers on October 22nd giving the opportunity to choose our preferred mains and dessert.
A large group of us enjoyed our trip to London to see GYPSY at the Savoy Theatre. The show was excellent and everyone agreed that Imelda Staunton brought tremendous energy and charisma to her role. We all headed across to the Strand Palace Hotel after the show where we had a lovely 2-course carvery meal and a couple of glasses to complete a great day out. It was such a treat to be transported back to Goldhanger Square in the evening in comfort to complete a great day out.
