GOLDHANGER, LITTLE TOTHAM and TOLLESHUNT MAJOR W.I.
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday October 4th at 7.30.p.m. in the Village Hall. The speaker will be Maz Keenan and she will be telling us all about the work of FARLEIGH HOSPICE. Please bring a single stem flower from your garden if you want to take part in the ‘flower of the month’ competition.
“HEAD”…..<“TAIL”……<“LEG”……. “FEELER”…..<“EYE!” The Village Hall was the venue for our annual beetle drive in September and , judging by the shouting, we might all have been competing for the Town Hall Clock! The hall was full of members and guests shaking dice at an alarming rate to complete their beetles. Then the fish and chip suppers arrived and we all relaxed for a while . Felice was obviously the fastest ‘mover and shaker’ and well-deserved her prize at the end of the evening. Our thanks to Pam who always organises the event so calmly and efficiently.
Special thanks to all the members who provided lovely home-made cakes for our TEA ROOM at the Gala weekend. Our teams worked hard to make the two days most successful and customers enjoyed their refreshments as they watched the various entertainments going on around the marquees. Many thanks to all involved.
September was particularly busy as we also went by coach on our theatre outing to see JOSEPH and his AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT at the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend. The production was enjoyed by all and the innovative interpretations were ,indeed, amazing. I , for one, did not expect to see Elvis as Pharoah, nor ‘Jeremy Corbyn’ as Jacob. What larks!
October 12th is the date for our ANNUAL DINNER AT THE CHEQUERS. Please make sure you have your name on the board if you wish to attend. The cost is £13.50 per head.
